Frequently Asked Questions

Does SDW send updates during each visit?

Yes, we provide a minimum of 3 real-time texts and 3 photos/videos during each visit, sent directly to your cell phone! We always notify you when we're on the way, when we arrive, how the walk is progressing, how it went (including potty updates), and when the door is locked/house is secure. Serve Dog Wellness is renowned for our high level of communication, setting us apart from other dog walking companies in Orange County.

When does the time start for dog walking, hikes and adventure field trips?

Serve Dog Wellness begins timing as soon as we enter your home and stops it once we finish and lock up. This means that activities like leashing your dog and checking their water or food are all part of the scheduled walking time.

For apartments, the same procedures apply. However, the timer starts when we enter the lobby to account for retrieving the key from the concierge, exchanging it for our ID, taking the elevators, and so on. Regardless of where you live, we prioritize getting your dog outside promptly to maximize their outdoor time, returning home with just a minute or two to spare (unless additional tasks, like feeding lunch, are requested post-walk).

DOCC policies are designed to ensure Pet Professionals are fairly compensated for their time, including waiting for an apartment key (which typically takes just a few minutes). Our exceptional care extends beyond the walk, ensuring the home is secure and addressing situations such as a dog resisting re-entry into their crate, cleaning up accidents, refreshing the water bowl, and more.

Can you take my dog to a dog park instead of a walk?

Unfortunately, no. While we fully support and encourage dog socialization, allowing SDW dogs to interact with other unleashed dogs in either public or private dog parks poses too much of a liability.

Even though we trust and are familiar with SDW dogs, it’s the unpredictability of other dogs and their owners that prevents us from guaranteeing your dog’s safety.

Can you arrive at the exact specific time?

We work within a 2 hour time frame within your specific time. For example, if you book a walk for 10 AM, it could start anytime between 9 AM and 11 PM. This approach allows us to manage our schedule due to unforeseen delays such as traffic,or last minute cancellations. This flexibility helps ensure that all clients are served efficiently without overcommitting to specific times and disrupting the rest of the schedule.
